Campesino - Farmworker
This graphite drawing is of a farmworker boy. Farm work is labor-intensive; for children working in the agricultural fields, it requires waking up at the crack of dawn before going to school. By documenting the stories of farmworkers, such as my parents' journey and other community leaders, my artwork serves as a means of advocacy, education, and empowerment. It provides a platform for amplifying the voices of those whose labor sustains our agricultural industry, yet often goes unrecognized and undervalued.
